Samantha Kingston is the protagonist and narrator. Throughout the novel, she develops over the course of Seven repeating days. She is a popular high school senior, often preforming a sterotypical mean girl role. At the beginning she is vain, self-centered, and a follower. However while trying to get her life back, she changes as she realizes how wrong her actions have been.
Samantha has long brown hair, green eyes, and is tall and thin. She used to be dorky and a horse-girl. She is best friends with Lindsay, and is dating Rob. She falls in love with Kent by the end of the book.
Lindsay Edgecombe is Sams best friend, and former bully, and the most popular girl in their school. She is the main tormentor of Juliet Sykes, but it's revealed it's because Juliet knows a secret about Lindsay. She is mean, but also fierce and loyal. Despite her flaws, Sam knows she is hurting on the inside and still loves her. Lindsay is attractive, and has dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. She used to be Juliet Sykes, until she threw Juliet under the bus to save her own reputation. Her parents are divorced and she was taken advantage of by an older guy in the past.
Ally Harris is another one of Sams best friends. Notably, she is the richest one in the group, and also a lovesick virgin. She is kind of dumb, but is silly and fun. It is implied she has an eating disorder, despite being an amazing chef. She loves cows and the color pink.
Elody is another one of Sams best friends, and said to be the nicest in the group. Despite this, she still goes along with the groups mean girl behavior and participates in the bullying of Juliet Sykes. She is described as being quite promiscuous. She loves the color green, and Sam says she can be kind of embarassing sometimes, but she still loves her. Sam says Elody has a beautiful singing voice, and always makes her feel better. Elody has brown hair and a 'tiny dumpling shaped nose.' She snorts when she laughs, which Sam says always makes her laugh.
Juliet Sykes is a girl picked on by Lindsay Edgecombe and her friends. She is rumored to be crazy, even though she is just a picked on quiet girl. She has light blonde hair and blue eyes and Sam says she is as pretty as a supermodel. She got called mellow yellow for the longest time because Lindsay peed herself on a girls scout trip and blamed it on her, and Juliet never denied it because she knew how hard Lindsay had it with her parents divorce. She likes art, especially making masks. She stands up to the girls at Kents party, calling them mean girls and bitches. They all pour drinks on her though, humiliating her. Juliet has a little sister, Marian, who isn't ashamed of Juliet. She commits suicide in the loops, but in the end Sam saves her life by sacrificing herself.
